Investment firm Neuberger Berman will manage bitcoin and Ethereum-based assets, including futures, trust securities and ETFs. This was announced on the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website.
The company set up Neuberger Berman Hedged Cryptocurrency Volatility Fund LLC at the end of July to handle the new asset class.
"The minimum amount accepted from any outside investor is $5 million," the Form D notice states.
In March, the company published a blog post stating that the "bitcoin phenomenon" deserves close scrutiny.
The total value of assets under Neuberger Berman's management exceeds $400bn.
As a reminder, British bank Standard Chartered will launch an institutional bitcoin exchange in the fourth quarter.
