Cryptocurrency company Amber Group has announced the appointment of Dr Dimitrios Kavvatas as director of strategic development. It was announced on the company's blog.
Dimitrios Kavvatas holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago. He was a partner and managing director at Goldman Sachs' European regional headquarters for 12 years, before leading the company's securities division in Hong Kong for five years.
"Dr Kavvatas has extensive experience in derivatives and asset management. He will help us implement initiatives to optimise the company's financial structure," commented Amber Group CEO Michael Wu.
Amber Group is a cryptocurrency company that provides institutional and individual clients with asset management and liquidity services, as well as investment products with returns of up to 16% per annum.
In the third quarter of 2020, Amber Group launched a mobile app for iOS and Android. According to the company, the app has more than 5,000 active users from Russia. They can ask questions to the Russian-speaking support service on Telegram and Facebook.
Recall that in June Amber Group closed a Series B financing round for $100 million at a valuation of $1 billion.
