Previously, individual investors on Public.com could only trade US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds. The platform has now opened them up to Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Stellar, Zcash, Cardano and Dash.
The minimum investment amount is $1.

Users can buy and sell and hold digital assets without commissions, but they are not provided with individual wallets.
Public.com has been operating since 2019. In February 2021, the company closed a $220m funding round with a valuation of $1.2bn.
As a reminder, Public.com's competitor, online broker Robinhood, added cryptocurrency trading capability in 2018.
Robinhood began testing a wallet for digital assets in 2021.
