Since the beginning of the year, the capacity of the Lightning Network (LN) bitcoin micropayment network has increased by 70%, from 1,058.68 BTC to 1,806.38 BTC.
Only in the last 30 days has the figure increased by 20%. During the same period, the number of LN nodes increased by 6% and the number of channels by 12%.
The Lightning Network is one of the most important solutions for scaling bitcoin, reducing transaction fees and increasing payment privacy. Many experts are convinced that the development of this technology will encourage mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.
LN is used by major exchanges, including OKEx, OKCoin, Kraken and Bitfinex. The latter has extended the solution with Wumbo payment channels.
Earlier, Jack Dorsey did not rule out Lightning Network integration into BlueSky or Twitter.
