
Cryptocurrency trading platform Anycoin Direct has sponsored Dutch football club PSV for the next two seasons. As part of the contract, the latter will receive payments in bitcoin, according to a press release.
The amount of the deal has not been disclosed. According to ED, we are talking about around €400,000 per season.
"The payment in bitcoin marks the next step in the adoption of cryptocurrency in the European Union," said Anycoin Direct chief operating officer Lennert Vlemmings.
Earlier, football clubs Inter and Arsenal announced the launch of fan tokens on the Socios.com platform.
